Sports Science Student Visit

P1010052_1 Chris Sharp of The Footbed Clinic, Swansea was once again able to welcome an enthusiastic group of Sports Science students from Green Hill School, Tenby, West Wales and deliver a lecture to them on biomechanical function and the design of sports shoes as part of their GNVQ/AVCE studies.

This has become an annual date organised by Careers Wales and brings the theory of this area of sports science to life as the students can follow the digital images of footstrike patterns within the advanced Footbed Clinic environment.  The technical role of sports footwear and its effect on footstrike control is highlighted with lectures and question & answer sessions resulting from the visit.

Course tutor Louise Scale commented "Even on my second visit, it still astounds me the amount of facts and knowledge that Chris can pass on and this has given rise to a wealth of ideas to extend the project".

She added "The students came away feeling very positive and the feedback from them has been very good.  They never thought there was so much to a pair of shoes!"
